Piano

Age Range: 7 years+

This class runs in 7-week terms (Private or Duo Class).

Piano classes are again shaped by the student’s interests. It can prepare students to gain proficiency in reading music, theory and sight playing. It can also cover scales and aural skills to result in a well-rounded musician. RIAM graded exams are an option for those deemed suitable.

Being a self-taught player, who as an adult completed piano exams, I’ve seen the merits of both journeys and try to balance traditional piano classes with acquisition of party pieces and a strong understanding of chords.

We can also cater for the social singer who would like to accompany themselves and learn some functional keyboard skills.  

Genres can include Classical, Irish, Pop, Country Ballads, Musical Theatre and more.
